Visitors to two local hiking trails can now learn more about the lands they are crossing, thanks to the efforts of Boy Scouts who improved the signage at the trails.

The Hopkinton Area Land Trust (HALT) has expanded its trail network in the vicinity of SVT's Saddle Hill Reservation, making this area a more exciting place to hike.

Hikers can now enjoy a lengthy trek through:

  • SVT's Saddle Hill and Highland Park Reservations,
  • HALT conservation lands,
  • Hopkinton

Browns' Woods, Littleton

SVT has teamed up with the Town of Littleton and the Littleton Conservation Trust to purchase and protect Browns' Woods. The protection of the property will add a critical link in a corridor of conservation land that includes Prouty Woods, Long Lake, and the Littleton Town Forest. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has awarded a grant to the town that will provide well over half the funding required for the acquisition. 

SVT is pleased to welcome two members of the national AmeriCorps service program who joined our staff on September 8. 

Jonathan Haarstick, a first-year AmeriCorps member, has joined SVT as Community Engagement Coordinator. He is a recent graduate of UMass Amherst, where he majored in marketing and
