Volunteers and Scouts play an integral role in the stewardship of SVT's conserved lands.

Volunteers

SVT greatly values the contributions of our 200+ volunteers. These dedicated people increase the capacity of our Stewardship staff to care for our natural areas. They help maintain trails, clear invasive plants, build bridges and boardwalks, and regularly monitor our properties.

We also welcome area groups who are looking for a nature-based service project.

See our Volunteer Opportunities page for more information.

Scouts

SVT is proud to work with Boy and Girl Scouts on their individual Eagle, Silver, and Gold projects. Some Scouts have improved our trails by clearing trail heads or building bridges across streams. Others have built kiosks, installed a Storybook Trail, or added a photographic monitoring station to our lands.

We also work with local Scout Troops who are interested in group projects, such as a one-day cleanup effort or a longer-term endeavor to remove invasives from a property.

If you are interested in a Scout project, please contact us at [email protected] or 978-443-5588.
