Features

The All Persons' Trail at Wolbach Farm provides access to nature for people who use mobility devices like wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers. 

Grades: Gently graded, made of erosion-resistant and eco-friendly stabilized stone dust. Typical grade is less than 5% with some short stretches reaching 8%.

Parking: Accessible parking spots are located at the trailhead. 

Farm House Path Loop: Begins at the parking lot and is 880’ long. The Path is 4’ wide and is a mix of sun and shade around the old Wolbach farmhouse, which is now the offices of Sudbury Valley Trustees. The Farm House Path also features a pollinator garden, a rain garden, the Judy Mack Barn-view Terrace  with café style seating, additional resting benches, and a connection to SVT’s Founders’ Garden.

Picnic Grove: Along the Farm House Path Loop the Picnic Grove features an accessible family gathering table on a stone dust pad and 4 accessible picnic tables and a bench on an Engineered Wood Fiber pad.  

Woodland Trail: Along the Farm House Path Loop is a connection to the Woodland Trail. The Woodland Trail is 6’ wide and 1,140’ long and features four resting spots along its length as it follows Winter Brook upstream to another small intermittent stream that feeds it. It is an out and back trail entirely in the forest and is sheltered by a variety of predominantly hardwood trees that is approximately .6 miles round trip.

Nature Play Area Coming Soon

In 2027, we plan to build a nature-based play area next to the Picnic Grove. We want to provide a safe, free, and inviting space for children and caretakers of all abilities to enjoy nature together. To ensure the play area meets the greatest needs, we will seek input from the community about its design. Whether you’re a parent, a caregiver, an educator, or simply someone who cares about connecting kids of all abilities with the outdoors, your voice matters! All Persons’ Trail Naming Opportunities

If you support SVT's general operations with a gift in one of the following amounts, you will have the opportunity to either name a major feature of the All Person’s Trail at Wolbach Farm or place a recognition plaque at the designated location. Public recognition signage may honor the donor, someone they designate, or a business.

Farm House Path and Storybook Path

Naming of the Farm House Path: $50,000

Naming of the Storybook Path: $50,000

  • The beloved storybook path at Wolbach Farm will be revitalized and condensed as part of the All Persons' Trail project. When complete, all children will be able to access the entire path and read the whole story.
  • Expected Completion of the new Storybook Path Fall 2027
  • Name Example: The Maria Martinez Storybook Trail at Wolbach Farm

Storybook Path Signpost: $1,500

  • Support at this level will provide the donor with the opportunity to place a recognition plaque on one sign post of the Storybook path

Picnic Grove

Naming of the All Person’s Picnic Grove: $40,000

  • Surrounded by lush plantings, the All Person’s picnic grove will provide a community meeting space for residents to enjoy free of charge 365 days per year. The expansive grove will provide seating for at least 36 guests and will be adjacent to a nature playscape.
  • Expected completion of the picnic grove infrastructure in Summer 2025, with additional amenities added through 2027.

Naming of the Wild Child Playscape at the Picnic Grove: TBD

  • While details for this nature-based play space are still emerging, we envision a place for all children to explore and build confidence in nature. If you are interested in this naming opportunity please reach out.
  • Expected completion of the Wild Child Playscape Summer 2027
  • Name Example: The Tyrone and Jasmine Jackson Wild Child Playscape

Accessible Family Gathering Table at the Picnic Grove: $7,500 (unavailable)

  • The Accessible Family Gathering Table is named in honor of Roy and Katherine Ballard and Family. 
     
  • The picnic grove will feature a grand family gathering table that can seat up to 12, including at least two wheelchairs. Families and friends may gather here, free of charge, to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and other special events surrounded by the beauty of nature.
  • Tables will be available beginning Spring of 2026

Picnic Table at the Picnic Grove $5,000

Resting Spots and Benches

Naming of the Barn-view Terrace: $25,000 - (unavailable)

  • The Barn-view Terrace is named in memory of Judy Mack
  • The Barn-view Terrace features a stone retaining wall that doubles as seating, plus two removable picnic tables. With the pollinator meadow as a backdrop, community events such as educational activities and concerts will utilize this platform as a stage.

Naming of the Woodland Trailhead Overlook: $20,000

  • At the beginning of the All Persons' Woodland Trail section there is a circular meeting point and overlook, perfect for gathering with a small group in the woods.
  • Name Example: The Nguyen Family Woodland Overlook

Naming of the Winter Brook Rest Point at the All Person’s Trail Terminus: $10,000

  • At the end of the Woodland Trail section, there is a gathering place to listen to the wind in the trees, the babbling brook, and to spy woodland birds.
  • Name Example: The Raj and Priya Patel Rest Point

Naming of Judy Birnbaum Reader's Point: $10,000 (unavailable)

  • Reader's Point is named in memory of Judy Birnbaum.
  • Along the trail, visitors have a cozy place to stop and read a book in the woods, complete with comfortable reading chairs.
  • Expected completion of Readers’ Point Summer 2026

Naming of Meditation Point: $15,000

  • Visitors can find a restful place to breathe and be mindful in the woods. This resting point features a paisley-shaped stone wall, complete with a permanent meditation rock and a wheel chair pull off location. The word "Mediation" does not need to be in the final name of the resting point, dependent upon the preference of the namer.
  • Name Example: The Emily Green Mediation Point

Naming of the The Carolyn Lee Centering Overlook: $10,000 (unavailable)

  • The Carolyn Lee Centering Overlook is named in memory of Carolyn Lee.
  • At the midpoint in the trail, guests can find a pull off and resting point with a bench, to enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of nature.

Bench at a Rest Point $5,000

  • A durable recycled plastic bench (or similar) will feature a custom plaque recognizing the donor or a person they wish to honor. Please reach out to discuss bench location options.

Donation Tree and Interpretive Installations

Leaf-shaped Plaque on the Trailhead Sign: $750

  • SVT will install a sign near the All Person’s Trail trailhead featuring leaf-shaped plaques and the donor’s or honoree’s name(s) to publicly acknowledge and thank them for their support.
  • Expected installation of signage, Fall of 2025.

Interpretive Installations: TBD

  • Over time we will add interpretive features to the trail to heighten the visitor experience and engage the senses. If this interests you, please reach out to discuss options.
