A Recent Invader

In 1988, an invasive insect called the hemlock woolly adelgid arrived in Massachusetts. The insect larvae feed on eastern hemlock trees, and eventually kill them. The hemlock woolly adelgid is gaining a stronger foothold as winters get warmer.
