Take a Moment

At this point, please take a moment to stop and look around you. What do you notice about this portion of forest? 

If you look closely, you will realize that there are many different species of plants, which means this is a diverse forest. The plants also grow at different heights, so there is good vertical diversity here, too.

There also aren’t many invasive plants like glossy buckthorn shrubs or Asiatic bittersweet vine in this section of the forest. 

These are all signs of a healthy forest with good habitat for numerous species of native wildlife.

Keep walking down this trail a few hundred feet to Stop 11.
