Asian Bittersweet is an invasive vine. Please do not use it to create wreaths.

SVT thanks the students from Middlesex School in Concord who recently volunteered to fight invasive plant species at our Smith Conservation Land. Using weed wrenches, loppers, and mattocks, the students cut back and removed a large pile of the Asian bittersweet that threatens the wildlife habitat in this property on the Littleton-Harvard line.

Asian bittersweet features attractive berries, but SVT asks our members and friends to avoid the temptation to use this vine in your autumn wreaths. The berries can EASILY germinate where they drop, which will spread the vine to new areas and threaten the health of additional trees. Thank you for your cooperation!
