It’s been a busy season for land protection in our region, as voters in several towns have approved local conservation projects. SVT encouraged our members to vote YES on these six projects at their Town Meetings:

--Concord residents overwhelmingly supported the purchase of Assabet River Bluff.

--Berlin voters approved a final appropriation of Community Preservation Act (CPA) funds for their Town’s purchase of Horseshoe Pond.

--Upton voters approved the purchase of the Mechanic Street property.

--Boxborough residents approved the purchase of the Campbell Project.

--Wayland voters approved the purchase of the Sherman's Bridge property.

--Harvard residents approved the final round of CPA funding for the Prospect HIll Community Orchard (pictured) agricultural preservation restriction.

There is still work to be done before these deals are completed--including some additional fundraising for several of them--but the region is well on the way toward conserving and an additional 300 acres of land in the coming weeks. What a great way to kick off the summer!
