SVT Advocates for Invasives Management Legislation

During an April 26 hybrid session, SVT's Kristin O'Brien testified via Zoom before the Joint Committee on Environmental and Natural Resources of the Massachusetts Legislature. The committee was accepting public testimony on several pieces of legislation concerning waterways, wetlands, water resources, and oceans.

Speaking on behalf of both SVT and our many partners in the SuAsCo CISMA, Kristin argued in favor of legislation that would create a unified state level approach to invasive plant management and also create a new position for a statewide species coordinator. There's no word yet as to when this legislation could be sent to the full House and Senate for a vote.
