June 29. 2022: We have reached our fundraising goal!

The stunning Prospect Hill Community Orchard in Harvard will now be permanently protected with an agricultural preservation restriction. An anonymous donor has made a generous contribution that closed the gap in our fundraising campaign, and we have raised the full $105,000 we committed to the protection of this land.

Thank you to this donor and to everyone who has contributed to the success of this conservation effort.

Located on Prospect Hill Road in Harvard, the orchard has long been part of the scenic and agricultural fabric of the region. Its current owners, Community Harvest Project (CHP), donate all fruit grown in the orchard to area food banks. The land is also part of a wildlife corridor that includes the Town's Dean's Hill conservation area, Fruitlands Museum, and the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge.

CHP has agreed to sell an agricultural preservation restriction on 70 acres of the land, both to endow its mission and to conserve the land for agricultural use.
