MCA Invites Public to Tour Pollinator Gardens

Image

Anyone interested in creating a pollinator garden is invited to tour a Pollinator Preservation Garden with the Native Pollinator Task Force (NPTF).

During the month of June, the NPTF has scheduled a series of garden tours to demonstrate the importance of providing habitat for native pollinators. These demonstration gardens represent a variety of landscapes and showcase native plants that support at-risk bees and butterflies. Plants were selected based on the research of Dr. Robert Gegear, professor of biology at UMass Dartmouth.

A visit to these gardens should inspire you to choose plants for your own garden that will help restore the native plant-pollinator connection and increase biodiversity in your backyard. As more people install pollinator gardens, we will create a network of essential habitat that improves biodiversity throughout the region.

NPTF Ambassadors and members of the NPTF parent organization--the Metrowest Conservation Alliance--are also encouraged to attend a tour and gain advice for planting Pollinator Preservation Gardens in their own communities.
