Help Conserve Horseshoe Pond in Berlin

SVT and the Town of Berlin are making strides in the effort to protect 100 acres of land on the northeast corner of Mount Pisgah. Located at the intersection of Linden Street and Lyman Road, Horseshoe Pond is the largest remaining piece of unprotected land on Mount Pisgah.

The land is part of an important wildlife corridor and provides habitat for numerous species. In addition, a popular hiking trail runs across the property and connects to the trails in the Mount Pisgah Conservation Area.

During Town Meeting on May 2, Berlin voters will be asked to approve the Town’s purchase of these 100 acres. In the meantime, SVT is helping to raise funds to close the gap between the Town's planned contribution and the purchase price. If we succeed, SVT will hold a conservation restriction on the land to ensure its ecological properties remain protected.
