Good News for Nobscot

Thank you to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for supporting land conservation!

SVT and DCR have been awarded a $1.25 million Landscape Partnership Grant by the Commonwealth for the protection of the Nobscot Hill property on the Framingham-Sudbury line.

SVT, DCR, and the Mayflower Council of the Boy Scouts are considering options for conserving 134 acres on the Framingham side of the line. (SVT and the Town of Sudbury helped to protect the 303-acres Nobscot Scout Reservation in Sudbury in 2008.)

The project is in its early stages, but our goal is to permanently protect an important wildlife habitat area, a treasured recreational resource, and an extensive corridor of open space that sits adjacent to Callahan State Park.
