Berlin Votes to Buy 100 Acres on Mount Pisgah

SVT was thrilled to learn that voters in Berlin have supported an effort to save 100 acres of land on the northeast face of Mount Pisgah.

At a Special Town Meeting on November 8, Berlin voters overwhelmingly approved the use of Community Preservation Act (CPA) funds for the purchase of this land, which sits at the intersection of Linden Street and Lyman Road.

Encompassing woodlands and wetlands, these 100 acres provide habitat for numerous species of wildlife. A popular hiking trail runs through the woods, circles around a horseshoe-shaped pond, and passes alongside tumbling streams before connecting to the trails in the Mount Pisgah Conservation Area.

SVT is assisting the Town with this purchase and will hold a conservation restriction on the 100 acres when the project is complete. Read more.
