Hop Brook Natural Area Trail Guide

Introduction

Welcome to the Hop Brook Natural Area Mobile Trail Guide. This interactive guide was put together by Alexander Genovese of Troop 12 Framingham for his Eagle Project in 2019, incorporating content that was originally created by Matthew Barnes in 2010, for his Eagle Project with Troop 63 Sudbury. The trail is approximately a ½ mile and follows Hop Brook to a scenic pond. The trail is marked with a series of five posts that provide you with information regarding the surrounding natural features. To access this information, you will need a QR Code Scanner, if one isn’t already integrated into your phone’s camera. These codes will lead you to web pages providing information regarding your point along the trail, with more follow-up information available via links.

The trail follows protected wetlands as deemed by the City of Framingham. For more information, please visit their web site.

Alexander’s Eagle Project was accomplished with the help of his unit, the Sudbury Trustees, and the Framingham Conservation Commission. Through his project, Alexander was able to grow his understanding of natural history, the process of City government, and the coordination of volunteers.
