MCA Receives Catalyst Grant
SVT and our partners in the Metrowest Conservation Alliance (MCA) have received some great news: The Network for Landscape Conservation recently awarded us a $25,000 Catalyst Grant to strengthen the MCA and increase its capacity to protect and care for area lands.
SVT coordinates he MCA, which we helped to form in 2011. The MCA works in the same 36-community region as SVT. Its members include municipal conservation commissions, land trusts, and other nonprofits and individuals who voluntarily collaborate on efforts to care for the region’s natural spaces.
The MCA is one of only 15 Regional Conservation Partnerships in the U.S. to receive a 2024 Catalyst Grant, and SVT and the MCA Advisory Committee are grateful for this support. The MCA will use the $25,000 to create its first-ever focusing document, launch new collaborative land protection and stewardship projects, and develop educational materials that help both MCA members and private landowners manage and improve wildlife habitats.
We are excited to put these plans into action so we can advance the pace of conservation and protect more healthy lands in the region.
