Volunteers Assist SVT at Memorial Forest

High School students came out in force recently to assist SVT with banishing buckthorn from Memorial Forest in Sudbury.  Thirteen students from the Rivers School in Weston,  four students from Marlborough High School and several Sudbury residents removed glossy buckthorn, an invasive plant.  The students also managed the herculean task of moving two boardwalks to a trail section that was flooded by recent beaver activity.  The removal of the buckthorn is part of the overall habitat restoration of the Desert Natural Area.
