Greg Dysart, Massachusetts Butterfly Club

Gossamer wings are tiny iridescent butterflies. There are 27 species of this group in Massachusetts, some are rare, though others may be seen with relative ease. Using his beautiful, detailed photos of wild and free butterflies, Greg Dysart of the Massachusetts Butterfly Club will present an introduction to these creatures and will discuss how to find them. One species to be highlighted will be the Eastern Pine Elfin. This distinctive, dramatically patterned butterfly is a common resident of the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge. Butterfly season is just about to begin, so come and learn about these fascinating treasures of our natural world.

Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge (FARNWR)
