Stearns farmer Melanie Hardy has been fermenting vegetables for as long as she's been farming! Fermenting vegetables is a good way to extend their life and add to their nutritional value. Come learn about the basic science of fermentation and then use some fresh make your own jar of fermented goodies to take home. We will also make a community batch of "spicy ginger kraut" to divide and take home.
Please bring two quart sized jars, a knife that is appropriate for chopping vegetables, and a cutting board. Vegetables and other ingredients and materials will be provided. This program will be held in the kitchen at Wolbach Farm and outside, weather permitting.
